RO plant by TDL Energie GmbH in Latvia

Rental of reverse osmosis plant for leachate treatment to Latvian landfill site

Reverse Osmosis

TDL Energie GmbH delivered a containerized reverse osmosis plant for landfill leachate treatment to a landfill site in Latvia last October 2022.

The 3-stage RO plant with a treatment capacity of 250 m3/d is rented out to a landfill that is located near Riga as part of a long-term rental contract.

TDL Energie GmbH operates the RO plant for the regional waste association together with a local partner.

The RO plant was set up and put into operation within one week only: it provides support for the existing facility on site and ensures that the leachate can be processed in a secure and reliable manner.

The quality of the raw leachate is indicated by high conductivity and high ammonium concentrations. However, although the leachate is highly contaminated, the reverse osmosis plant ensures that the values given for the discharge conditions (direct discharge) for permeate will remain even below the specifications set by the Latvian government.

The modern RO plant is equipped with a wound module membrane using a wide spacer. It was especially designed for the treatment of landfill leachate.
